Group Vice President of International Operations, RLE International Group

Darren Gowland has been with RLE International Group since 1997, leading international operations across key regions, including the UK, USA, Spain, Poland, India, China, and Australia. With over 25 years of experience in expanding RLE’s global engineering and mobility services, he plays a pivotal role in driving operational growth and efficiency across the group. Since 2007, he is the Group Vice President of International Operations, overseeing the company’s day-to-day global operations.

Darren Gowland holds a Doctor of Engineering (EngD) from the University of Hertfordshire, where he specialized in performance measurement within the product development process. He has also completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School, focusing on leading professional service firms, which complements his extensive industry knowledge and leadership skills.

Career

Before joining RLE, he held senior roles at Ford Motor Company, contributing to several international projects, including the Puma Project in Germany and the Ka Project in Spain and Thailand. His earlier career saw him working as a Senior Engineer at International Automotive Design and in Body Engineering at Rover Group, where he developed critical expertise in vehicle design and systems engineering.
